Liza Ferschtman performs Willem Pijper
In this concert, Maurice Ravel looks back at the refined world of the French baroque of the Sun King, but he also commemorates comrades fallen in war. Liza Ferschtman performs the Violin Concerto of Willem Pijper, Holland’s most important composer between the two world wars. With Ralph Vaughan Williams we hear the summery lark magically take off and Edward Elgar presents the listeners with a beautiful romantic and many-headed mystery.
