Manneke / Escher / De Leeuw

In the Netherlands, contemporary choral music is an important part of the excellent and progressive choral scene. There are also countless repertoire treasures in early music – from Franco-Flemish vocal polyphony to music of the Renaissance and early Baroque. It is therefore very important to us to draw attention to the musical diversity and excellence of Dutch vocal music with this a cappella program. The concert focuses on four virtuoso eight-part motets by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck and a Salve Regina by Jacob Obrecht, who is considered one of the most outstanding representatives of Franco-Flemish vocal polyphony. In between, selected contemporary works by Daan Manneke, Rudolf Escher and Ton de Leeuw will be heard, which will convince you with their striking style and unique sonority.
