Marion von Tilzer: Into Eternity. A tribute to Vilma Grunwald
Marion von Tilzer’s Into Eternity is an evening-filling, immersive concert based on the critically acclaimed music album of the same name from 2023. The project is a tribute to Vilma Grunwald, based on her last letter to her husband, written shortly before her death in Auschwitz.
Into Eternity – although heartbreaking – is a story about the human capacity for love. A story about courage and trust, told by a woman who comes face to face with death during the Holocaust. In the letter to her husband, Vilma sheds light on the essence of accepting circumstances without losing faith in the beauty of life and hope in its goodness, with full confidence that love carries us through and beyond the end. Into Eternity is an evening-filling, immersive concert with Bella Adamova (alto) Maya Fridman (cello, vocals), Belinfante Quartet (Olivia Scheepers, Fiona Robertson. violin, Henrietta Hill. viola, Pau Marquès i Oleo. Cello), Michael Hesselink (clarinet), Jacobus Thiele (percussion) and Marion von Tilzer (piano, compositions).
