Marion von Tilzer: Ten Songs of Change

It is well known by now that cellist Maya Fridman does not shy away from any challenge. Her latest leap of faith is a collaboration with composer and pianist Marion von Tilzer. She composed a cycle based on the Chinese ‘I Ching’ with ten poems selected by the well-known author Lulu Wang. Title is ‘Ten Songs of Change’, released by TRPTK.

The performance ‘Ten Songs of Change’ is a concert poem, based on the ancient Chinese ‘Book of Change’, the ‘I Ching’. The project is a kaleidoscope of music, poems and live calligraphy, all inspired by the trigrams of the I Ching, which symbolize the different appearances in nature. The poems are mainly from the Tang Dynasty and have been selected by author Lulu Wang, who is part of the artistic team. The music will be performed by musical alchemist and initiator of the project, Maya Fridman (cello & vocals) and Marion von Tilzer (piano), composer of Ten Songs of Change.
