Martyna Kosecka & Idin Samimi Mofakham
The tuba trio Microtub is a breath of fresh air in contemporary music! At the heart of their music lies a deep fascination for time, space and the possibilities of microtonality. They explore frequency intervals that are so unusual that the listener feels transported to alien dimensions.
The concert offers pieces specially adapted to this unusual tuba-trio ensemble. And it offers surprises if you primarily associate the tuba with deep tones. The concert is performed in various rooms in the Central, and offers pieces by composers from NMK (nyMusikks Komponistgruppe), and Forrest Moody, a promising young American composer. The music ranges from microtonal exploration and electroacoustic soundscapes, to non-Western voice systems inspired by Persian music.
