Martyna Kosecka: Monolith|Transparence
Kwartludium Ensemble performs works by Mareike Dobewall, Frej Wedlund, Aleksandra Gryka,
Martyna Kosecka and Bogusław Schaeffer. The concert is supported by the Polish Institute in Stockholm.
Kwartludium, founded in 2002, focuses on performing works by young composers tailored for their unique instrumentation. They have premiered numerous compositions at festivals all around the world and are also actively engaged in contemporary improvised music. Since 2014 Kwartludium has collaborated with the Swedish Arts Grants Committee as an international residence ensemble. To date, composers who have written for the ensemble include Rei Munakata, Joakim Sandgren, Dror Feiler, Ivo Nilsson and Henrik Denerin. They have participated in workshops, collaborated with orchestras, and received several recognitions and grants, including a jubilee award in 2022 from the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage on the occasion of their 20th anniversary of artistic activity.
