Martyna Kosecka: monolith|transparence
Through musical interpretation, the two opposing social attitudes take on metaphorical meaning: the traditional, stable for centuries and embodied by ‘monolith’, and the still elusive and volatile change embodied by ‘transparency’. These phenomena serve as a pretext to understand the social processes that take place between people in a situation where certain protest groups form a homogeneous whole (monolith). Transparency, on the other hand, describes the state of readability, comprehensibility and clarity in relation to language and the way and quality of information transmission between different social groupings.
The composition ‘monolith|transparence’, dedicated to the ensemble Kwartludium, is inspired by the fight and fate of women during the Revolution in Iran, which lasts from 16 September 2022 until today and has its roots in the struggle for women’s fundamental rights under the motto ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’.
