Martyna Kosecka: Ourobóros
Ensemble Ernst plays Ouroboros by Martyna Kosecka.
Ourobóros explores time looping and musical material that extinguishes itself and reaches a perfect circular shape. Ourobóros was written with inspiration from the book of the same name, described in “The Book of Imaginary Beings” by Jorge Luis Borges. It is a symbol of continuity and continuous transformation, not only of life, but also of sound and time that passes. These elements are inextricably linked in the creation of a composer and every person who approaches music at the moment. How is the relationship between sound and time able to affect and transform a person? Is it able to cleanse one and bring something new to life? Are we ready to be reborn in our world’s Ouroboros?
