Martyna Kosecka: Tessera
We are playing our Estimate program twice in the Casals Forum Kronberg. On March 7th & 8th, everything revolves around the sun, from mythological tales from the Persian, Eastern European and Arabic regions to evergreens such as Sunny by Bobby Hebb and O sole mio by Eduardo di Capua to works that represent the lively Celebrate the mood of the beginning of spring. As a special highlight, we will play a work by the composer Martyna Kosecka, whose music grows from her diverse interest in philosophy, physics and mythology and combines various cultural influences.
The program also includes compositions and arrangements by orchestra members Johanna-Leonore Dahlhoff and Walid Khatba. The Bridges Chamber Orchestra will again be conducted by Bar Avni. She is the winner of the La Maestra 2024 (Paris) conductor competition, former chief conductor of the Bayer Philharmonic Leverkusen (2021-2024), a scholarship holder of the stARTacademy of Bayer Kultur and the youngest prize winner as well as a scholarship holder of the International Kurt Masur Institute 2021. Coming to the Bridges Chamber Orchestra Musicians with their instruments from different regions of the world come together. The orchestra members are experts in Arabic, Persian and European classical music, jazz, contemporary music, Eastern European folklore and various forms of Central Asian and Latin American music. Based on their diverse personalities, the musicians compose and arrange their pieces themselves. The result is transcultural music. The concert is supported by the Crespo Foundation, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media and the Frankfurt RheinMain Cultural Fund.
The premiere of Martyna Kosecka’s composition is made possible with the kind support of Arts Council Norway.
