Max Knigge: I watched the moon around the house

The Moon, der Mond, la Lune

The moon is central to the program that the trio Hochscheid-Hochscheid-van Ruth will perform in ‘t Mosterdzaadje on Saturday afternoon, December 9 at 3 p.m. Poets and composers from all over the world (including Marx, Fauré, Saint-Saëns, Dvorák and Bosmans) sing about the moon, a symbol of the night, in all its mystery, darkness and silence.

You can also hear the brand new work of Max Knigge. Especially for this program he is writing a new composition based on a poem by Emily Dickinson: “I watched the Moon around the House” for mezzo-soprano, cello and piano.

Doris Hochscheid and Frans van Ruth were appointed Knights in the Order of Orange Nassau in 2017 for their services to Dutch music. They are also the founders of ‘Stichting Cellosonate Nederland’ and winners of the prestigious ECHO classic 2016. Together with Oda Zoe Hochscheid, they have been creating special programs for many years and ‘t Mosterdzaadje has the honor of hosting them on stage.

Works by Max Knigge (premiere), Fauré, Bosmans, Loeffler, Saint-Saëns and Dvořák.
