Maxim Kolomiiets: City of Stairs
There are many reasons to write music. Some of the most moving, profound, and personal music has always been written as a personal response to pain and tragedy. This artistic response to darkness – from the outside as well as from the inside – shapes the evening’s programme, and consists of masterpieces from the piano literature of the last two centuries (1787-2023).
