Maxim Kolomiiets: Feuer in deinen Augen

Orlando di Lasso’s Prophetiae Sibyllarum, pre-Christian prophecies about the arrival of the Prince of Peace, are the focus of this evening and open the festival. What is special about this work is, among other things, di Lasso’s unconventional use of harmony and chromaticism. This unique composition is juxtaposed with contemporary echoes from composers such as Samir Odeh-Tamimi and Younghi Pagh-Paan.
