Maxim Kolomiiets: Reflection of emptiness

‘Pictures from an exhibition’ Tonight pianist Ralph van Raat and percussionist Konstantyn Napolov present Paintings from an exhibition. The audience will never be bored.

This is ensured by an extensive percussion set-up with all kinds of sounds on small, large and exotic instruments, and the energetic playing of one of the world’s best pianists in the contemporary repertoire. The name of the program comes from Mussorgsky’s masterpiece Pictures from an Exhibition; the arrangement was made especially for this program, while the theme of ‘collecting’ and the importance of art also play a leading role. You will also hear The Collectors by Moritz Eggert, Reflections of Emptiness by Maxim Kolomiiets (commissioned work for this program) and Piazonore by Alexej Gerassimez.
