Meliha Doguduyal / Rudolf Escher / Ton de Leeuw

The three musicians of Multisonant Collective -Meliha Doguduyal (piano and compositions), Sinan Vural (vocals and recitation) and Şükrü Kirtiş (ney and flute), present a theatrical concert interspersed with poetry. They combine in a special way maqam and Sufi music from the Middle East, European classical and

contemporary music, and world jazz and improvisation, resulting in colorful and rich soundscapes.

Under the theme “Dilemmas”, the trio provides a crossover between music and literature. In the performance

one finds the theme of the search for identity in more than one form. Through the insights of the

composers, writers/poets and performers, the performance addresses a series of life dilemmas

arise from cultural differences or are part of the process of existence: I versus the other, life versus

death, order vs. chaos, emotion vs. reason… and of course humanity’s oldest dilemma: war or peace?
