Olga Rayeva: Spring Concert (World Premiere)

With TRIBUT, Eroica Berlin and Karine Gilanyan present a belated birthday concert for two giants of contemporary music, which will also premiere two works composed in their honor.

TRIBUT is a homage, a homage, an expression of thanks: already planned before the pandemic and postponed several times, this concert can be considered a belated birthday concert for Sofia Gubaidulina (90 years!) and Arvo Pärt (85!), whose music is so fresh and sounds as up-to-date as ever, and touches and inspires with their very different characteristics and clear personality with a timeless and human statement.

Together with the Armenian pianist Karine Gilanyan, Eroica Berlin pays tribute to these two giants in a special way: Two composers of the younger generation were commissioned to write today’s response compositions, which are now being premiered. Olga Rayeva and Sven Daigger present their personal tonal languages in forms and instrumentations that invite you to draw parallels, discover contrasts and enjoy the most diverse facets of contemporary music.
