Peter Kerkelov: The Lost Songs of Sisyphus

On the very edge of the Black Sea, beneath the white cliffs of Balchik, a stone once more sets out on its journey upward… and downward. This time, it carries with it music, light, and tales of freedom, borders, and the eternal cycle of life.

Composer Petar Kerkelov – inspired by the myth of Sisyphus, Camus’ philosophy, and the search for meaning in the absurd – creates a work that flows between classical and electronic music.

“The Lost Songs of Sisyphus” is a ballet of forms and shadows, where the piano of Veneta Neynska and the cello of Stefan Hadzhiev enter into dialogue with electronic pulsations and the visual worlds crafted by Petko Tanchev.

The world premiere of the work will take place in the magical atmosphere of the restored The Mill Cultural Center building. This is a moment where music and visual art meet to reveal “the time of our freedom.”
