On Sunday, September 1, North Holland Women’s Ensemble L’EF (L’Ensemble Féminin) conducted by Ellen Verburgt will once again perform the choral work ‘Travel’ by Rieteke Hölscher, this time on Texel in the Mennonite Church in Den Burg.

12 women sing a capella choral music. A mass from the 17th century and new pieces from the 21st century. A special and varied program with texts by Wikke Huizing.

A discarded donkey playing the double bass, a hoarse rooster with a trumpet, an old dog playing percussion and a cat singing. Four animals together form a colourful group. In the eyes of the people, the animals are too old or no longer suitable to do their work.
