Robert Heppener: Nachtklange / Canto carnascialeschi / Spinsel

A Singer’s Farewell

Semi-staged performance with beautiful music from the Romantic period.

There was a time when increasing age meant wisdom and respect. That is no longer self-evident. Singing at the highest level has a limited duration. At some point, singers say goodbye to the family from which they seemed inseparable.

What happens when you break away from the frameworks you have long relied on? Is it a farewell with loss, or a new beginning full of space for something else? This is a universal question, now that we are struggling with those who fall outside the standard.

A semi-staged performance for young and old. With humor and a touch of melancholy and beautiful music from the Romantic period and the early 20th century. A concept by director Sjaron Minailo and Tido Visser, with singers and former singers of the Netherlands Chamber Choir.

In the context of this performance, a documentary is being developed.
