VERTIXE SONORA is performing the iconic work Canto Ostinato by Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt. This masterpiece will be presented in A Coruña on three pianos and a synthesizer inspired by the setting of the first performance (three pianos and organ) in 1976.

A discarded donkey playing the double bass, a hoarse rooster with a trumpet, an old dog playing percussion and a cat singing. Four animals together form a colourful group. In the eyes of the people, the animals are too old or no longer suitable to do their work.

Simeon ten Holt: Canto Ostinato (Bergwerff – Vloeimans)

Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, Simeon ten Holt’s world-famous masterpiece Canto Ostinato will be performed by two top musicians. Internationally acclaimed organist Aart Bergwerff will play the renowned De Rijckere organ in De Oostkerk. Together with trumpeter Eric Vloeimans—a jazzy all-rounder and master of improvisation—a unique musical interplay will emerge.
