Simeon ten Holt: Canto Ostinato
Canto Ostinato 2.0 brings together minimal music, electronic and worldly sounds.
Simeon ten Holt’s iconic composition has been filling halls for half a century and is now getting a radical update for the new generation. Think of the dreamy soundscapes of Nils Frahm, the electronic energy of Jon Hopkins and the mystical sounds of music from the East.
The melodious melodies and repetitive patterns that are reminiscent of the loops and arpeggiators of electronic music, make Canto a musical trip in which many a listener loses themselves. In the 2.0 version, the organic sounds of acoustic keyboard instruments, live percussion and the mystical Turkish ney come together with a modern deep electronic sound.
This time no classical chairs, but a space in which you can fully immerse yourself in an audiovisual experience. The music and light show form a modern, eclectic experience that blurs boundaries.
