Simeon Ten Holt: Canto Ostinato (Basilova)

ADE Opening Concert: 24classics presents: Canto Ostinato by Helena Basilova x Nick Verstand

24classics flips the script on classical music. We’re here to push boundaries, experiment, and connect craftsmanship with the future zeitgeist. This year at ADE we bring you Canto Ostinato like you’ve never experienced before.
Helena Basilova unveils a bold new version of Simeon ten Holt’s iconic masterpiece Canto Ostinato. Merging solo piano with deep electronic textures that heighten its intensity and emotional power.

Inside the monumental Zuiderkerk, the piece unfolds in breathtaking stages: beginning in stillness as delicate, mesmerizing notes gradually fill the space before evolving into a fully immersive soundscape that draws you deeper and deeper into your journey.
To amplify the experience, Nick Verstand’s immersive light installation reimagines the Canto Ostinato in a completely new dimension, responding in real time to every nuance of the music.
