While the organ performs the piece in its entirety, maintaining the hypnotic cadence, Eric Vloeimans weaves melodic lines throughout and frequently improvises over them. The occasionally massive sounds of the organ contrast beautifully with Vloeimans’ trumpet playing – which shifts between ethereal delicacy and powerful intensity. Once again, this performance – set within the composer’s flexible framework – will provide new listening adventures, unique textures, and fresh points of recognition.
