Simeon ten Holt: Canto Ostinato by Ivo Janssen
Music without time and without end or beginning: during the concerts, you will hear music that sounds like one long piece, although the works may consist of several parts. These are concerts in which, as a listener, you can experience a different perception of time. Composers know how to use minimalist elements to evoke spatial worlds, worlds in which an audience of millions is eager to dwell. Are we as an audience looking for a certain element in the music to mirror the spirit of the times, to escape from them or to want to influence them?
