Simeon ten Holt: Canto Ostinato Immersive

Canto Ostinato by Simeon ten Holt is a classic hit. For years the piece has been in the top 10 of the annual Classical Top 400 (formerly Hart en Ziel list) on Radio 4. Ten Holt originally wrote the piece for piano. Aart Bergwerff has now adapted the composition for organ and female voices, adding a completely different dimension to this world-famous work.

Canto Ostinato – often affectionately referred to as ‘the Canto’ – is an eminently meditative piece. No one version is the same. The number of repetitions, the dynamics and the way of playing is left to the performer(s). Wishful Singing adds an extra experience to this and invites their visitors to wear a sleep mask or blindfold during the concert. As a visitor you can also choose to sit on a cushion or mat instead of on a concert chair (bring your own). Sharpen all your senses and experience the meditative and timeless effect of the Canto Ostinato!
