Simeon ten Holt: Canto Ostinato (Marnix van de Poll)
Canto Candlelight Concerts
With music performances, pianist and performance artist Marnix van de Poll is looking for connection between people, nature and art.
With his Steinway he already gave performances in the dunes during Oerol Festival, open-air concerts in the Japanese Garden Park Clingendael, Monday morning concerts on the ferry over the IJ in Amsterdam. During his artist-in-residence in Slovenia he rediscovered nature. It brought him a pilgrimage on foot from The Netherlands to Portugal. The rhythm of the journey, listening to silence, to nature, to people he met on the way, and to himself, it all gave him peace, lightness, groundedness and inspiration.
The solo verion of 70 minutes of the world-famous Canto Ostinato by Simeon ten Holt also offers this. A space to return to yourself, a space for contemplation.
Marnix plays the Canto Ostinato in the open air, in a beautiful nature place in Drenthe. Many candles reinforce the intimate atmosphere.
Feel free to bring a candle with you (in a jam jar) and experience the Canto your way.
