Simeon ten Holt: Lemniscaat
Like ‘the Canto’, the piece is made up of different musical sections, which the pianists determine how often they repeat. Some decisions are even made by the pianists during the concert. That makes Lemniscaat surprising every time. The Natalon Kwartet ensures that you fall into a pleasant trance during this concert: the repetitions of small motifs, the subtle changes, the ongoing movement in the piece: Lemniscaat is typically Ten Holt. One of the pianists of the Natalon Kwartet, Robert Lambermont, has been a good friend of Simeon ten Holt for many years and the composer saw him as his protégé. He knows better than anyone what Ten Holt wants to say with this music. We can’t get any closer to the composer!
