Ville Raasakka: A hand as light as if holding a leaf
The programme of the duo Monika Mattiesen (flutes) and Michael Wendeberg (piano) “Currents” will be framed by the works of contemporary music classic Pierre Boulez, whose work is inspired by the deep currents of modern music. Works composed specially for the duo by internationally known Estonian, Latvian and Finnish composers Helena Tulve, Ülo Krigul, Ville Raasakka, Jarkko Hartikainen, Janis Petraskevich and Liisa Hirsch will have their Estonian or world premiers at this concert.
Ville Raasakka about his new piece: ‘The piece is about walking with my son, holding his absolutely tiny hand, and sharing a journey together’.
