Willem Boogman: Een Oog in Zee
‘An eye in the sea’ is a music theater production by Stichting Noorderklank. The 75 minutes lasting work presents a contemporary version of the myth of Ariadne and Theseus. Salomé Roodenburg’s libretto tells the story from Ariadne’s perspective as an ‘eye’ on the truth ‘in a sea’ of lies and manipulations with which some rulers impose their will on the people. The music theater production offers a new context for Haydn’s Arianna a Naxos, which has been integrated into a new composition by Willem Boogman.
