The CNSMD Orchestra of Lyon at the Auditorium is now a must! Embark with the best professionals of tomorrow for a journey into the masterpieces of Janáček and Tchaikovsky and the discovery of a magnificent elegy by Willem Jeths.
Generation after generation, the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Lyon trains the talented musicians of tomorrow with rigour and passion. For almost fifteen years, the students gathered within the CNSMD Orchestra of Lyon have given a concert at the Auditorium, a precious step on the path to their professionalisation and a unique opportunity to delight us. Thus the CNSMD of Lyon and the AO respond together to their mission of transmitting and disseminating musical heritage and contemporary creation. This year, the students show their individual and collective talent in the sparkling Sinfonietta, the work of a septuagenarian Janáček so young in spirit and full of life. The same will not be said of Mors æterna, a poignant page where Wagner lovers will recognise an extension of the “Funeral March of Siegfried” in the Ring. Marked like the following two by an implacable Destiny, Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony will not restore a frank good mood. But his lyricism is so irresistible!
