Willem Pijper / Kees van Baaren / Peter Schat / Hans Kox / Matthijs Vermeulen

In collaboration with the Conservatory of Amsterdam and docent Ralph van Raat, the Leiden Salon presents four concerts featuring Dutch (piano) music from the 20th century. Well-known and lesser-known composers will be featured. A nice touch is that three of these concerts will be given by (piano) students from abroad, a wonderful meeting of cultures.

The main pieces of this concert will be the substantial violin sonata by Matthijs Vermeulen and the piano composition “Anathema” by Peter Schat.

Program:

Willem Pijper (1894-1947)- Sonata

Kees van Baaren (1906-1970) – Sonatina in memoriam Willem Pijper

Peter Schat (1935-2002) – Anathema
