NATURE – ECHOES OF BIRDS, WATER, AND WIND

900 Years of Flute Music with Sophia Schambeck

Captivating baroque virtuosity, lively jazz arrangements, and contemporary compositions combine in this program to create a homage to nature. The recorder unfolds its multifaceted sound spectrum – from light and airy tones to expressive timbres that imitate birdsong or the forces of nature: sometimes solo, sometimes with piano, sometimes with a chamber orchestra. Works by Vivaldi, medieval hymns, and contemporary compositions written especially for Sophia Schambeck span a musical arc spanning centuries. Virtuosity, richness of color, and joy of playing characterize the program, which combines tradition and innovation. A unique concert experience full of dynamism and expressiveness.
