Gemma Bond is choreographing a new ballet for the Royal Ballet’s Festival of New Choreography. The ballet is based on ‘In Unison’, a composition by Joey Roukens for two pianos and orchestra.
The Festival aims to promote and celebrate new and diverse voices in choreography, with various performances, events and activities taking place on the Main Stage, Linbury Theatre, Paul Hamlyn Hall, and Clore Studio. It is part of The Royal Ballet’s commitment to nurturing the future of the art form and encouraging choreographic innovation. Several choreographers have been commissioned to create new works for the Main Stage, including Joseph Toonga, The Royal Ballet Choreographic Residency for the 2023-24 Season, Gemma Bond, Jessica Lang, Mthuthuzeli November, and Royal Ballet First Artist Joshua Junker.
Additionally, Robert Binet will premiere an immersive new production co-produced with The National Ballet of Canada at the Linbury Theatre.
