Spring Concert (Oasis) was completed a year ago, and now composer Olga Rayeva looks at it as a strange artifact. She doesn’t know what came over her then, but it sometimes happens: when an adult suddenly wants to slide down the stairs railings, buy him/herself a chocolate ice cream and dream about traveling to Ethiopia.
This piece is a small concerto for piano, its three alter egos – harp, button accordion, percussion, and string orchestra. As an idea – the desire/aspiration of joy (after all, it was written in the oppressive days of the pandemic) who knew that even more difficult times awaited us. But Olga Rayeva believes that there will be joy! Someone must bring good news too…
Financially supported by GEMA. World premiere at Theater in Delphi, Berlin. Orchestra Eroica with conductor Jakob Lehmann/Karina.
