DCV 258 – Zaid Jabri: Solo for Cello

Taukay Edizioni Musicali and Delta Produzioni Associazione Culturale announced the results of the 14th edition of the ‘City of Udine’ International Composition Competition (2023). The competition secretariat received a total of 533 entries from 61 countries.

Commissioned by the 23rd Chopin and Friends Festival and premiered in New York City in 2021, this string quartet by Zaid Jabri serves as a tribute to Zaid’s mentor, Krzysztof Penderecki, who passed away in 2020.

Celia Swart (1994, NL) is a new music composer, saxophone player and visual artist. Growing up playing saxophone and piano, she found her love for composing.

Education Michael has a degree in English Literature from the State University of New York. Despite having no formal music education, he has an active international career in several aspects of the music business.
