In Oelbrandt's music, you can hear the sound shadows of composers such as Arvo Pärt and Olivier Messiaen, but he walks his own spiritual path.

Kris Oelbrandt was born in Sint-Gillis-Waas (Belgium) on November 13, 1972. Kris studied violin, viola and piano at the Academy of Music, Drama and Dance in Sint-Niklaas.

A full evening concert in the Academiehuis de Grote Kerk will conclude the Day of the Composer in Zwolle in a festive manner. The evening concert opens with a work by graduating ArtEZ student Inge Ettema.

Ophanim was the name of the flaming wheels of the mythical chariot that the prophet Ezekiel saw in his visions. Wheels that were supposed to lead humanity to divine enlightenment and a heavenly ascent. This theme of a spiritual ascension also resonates in the works that will be performed tonight.

In the Kroonpen series, the Capella Brabant chamber choir goes in search of composers with a spiritual nature. The passion for religious traditions and meaning can be heard in their choral works. The main menu features Ralph Vaughan Williams’ majestic 1920-21 Mass in G Minor.

Education Michael has a degree in English Literature from the State University of New York. Despite having no formal music education, he has an active international career in several aspects of the music business.

Celia Swart (1994, NL) is a new music composer, saxophone player and visual artist. Growing up playing saxophone and piano, she found her love for composing.
