Rieteke Hölscher: Flarden

Rieteke Hölscher about her work:

“Flarden (Fragments) is a work in which one player always starts a new musical fragment to which the others respond and imitate each other. Every time the music threatens to develop too much, another fragment starts. I wrote the work as a reflection on the fact that in today’s society there seems to be less and less room for people to really focus on something. When you try to concentrate on something, distraction is always lurking: in the form of messages, sounds, news, films, games, etc. – fragments, in other words.”

This special composition will have its world premiere on Sunday 31 October, on the final day of the Bassoons for Future festival.
