To support and encourage musical creation and contribute to its dissemination, the town of Verrières-le-Buisson (France), under the impetus of its Mayor, Bernard Mantienne, created the Vedrarias Music Price composition competition in 2010. The framework for expression is chamber music. The instrumental line-up is defined for each edition. Preparation and organization of the competition are entrusted to the Vedrarias Musique Association, chaired by Olivier Guion.
This year, the constraint will be to compose for low flutes. The work, lasting 8 minutes, must be original and unpublished. It must be written for a directed ensemble of 10 flutes. The deadline for submissions is November 5, 2024. The jury will select the 3 finalist scores half-november, 2024.
The Final, which will take the form of a concert, will take place on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 4pm, in the Auditorium of the Conservatoire de Verrières le Buisson.
And new feature for this year : Donemus Publishing – leading music publishing house from the Netherlands – and true partner of the Verarias Music Competition, offers to publish the winner’s work.
