Zaid Jabri wins prestigious prize at the International Composition Competition in Udine

Taukay Edizioni Musicali and Delta Produzioni Associazione Culturale announced the results of the 14th edition of the ‘City of Udine’ International Composition Competition (2023). The competition secretariat received a total of 533 entries from 61 countries.

Among the Finalists, the Jury chose:

First Absolute Prize for the section “Compositions for instrumental chamber ensemble” (€1000 and public performance)
Jean-Patrick Besingrand (France) with the composition Des détritus sous la glace

Piero Pezzé Special Prize for the section “Compositions for instrumental chamber group” (500 euros and public performance)
Zaid Jabri (Syria) with the composition Prelude and Adagio in memoriam Krzysztof Penderecki

The members of the jury were:
Michele Biasutti (Italy – President of the Jury)
Juraj Ďuriš (Slovakia)
Salvatore Macchia (USA)
Roberta Silvestrini (Italy)
