Alla Zagaykevych

Performing of my work Murus lucis / Mur de lumière for Violin and Piano by Noëmi Schindler (Violin) and Ninon Hannecart-Ségal (Piano) at the Festival Embarque – un nouveau souffle ! 2024

The title of the work refers to a line from Serhiy Zhadan’s poetry – “behind me there are voices, a wall of light…” These lines are spoken by Vasyl Vyshivany (Wilhelm von Habsburg) during an interrogation in one of the scenes of my opera “Vyshivany”. This wall is imaginary, almost a dream. She is behind us – like a support and wings… We slowly follow her in our imagination.
