Alla Zagaykevych: vela invicti
KNM CONTEMPORARIES – re.construction presents a new work by Ukranian composer Alla Zagaykevych. In ‘vela invicti’ she focuses on the constant oscillation between hope and despair, with Odysseus’s precarious journey across the ocean as a metaphor. Alla Zagaykevych is a composer, performer, musicologist and founder of the Electroacoustic Music studio at the National Music Academy of Ukraine. As a member of the folklore ensemble Drevo, she conducted research into authentic Ukrainian singing and took part in numerous folklore expeditions. An interview with the composer will be shown in the exhibition at the same event.
