Antonii Baryshevskyi plays Ukrainian piano music

Splendor presents a benefit concert by the renowned young Ukrainian pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi, who the Splendor musicians have invited into their midst, and offered him a place to rehearse and perform. Antonii is closely associated with a foundation collecting money for Ukrainian musicians.
Antonii has won first prizes at some of the most prestigious international piano competitions, such as the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, “Premio Jaen”, and the F. Busoni International Piano Competition. He has performed world-wide, in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Berliner Philharmonie and the Concertgebouw. Tonight, Antonii will play exclusively Ukrainian music, providing a retrospective of the Ukrainian musical landscape from the last century. The programme will include works from Borys Lyatoshynskyi, one of the founders of the modern Ukrainian composers school, as well as contemporary composers such as Valentin Silvestrov, Svyatoslav Lunyov and Maxim Shalygin.

When you think of Indonesia, the spicy scents of the oriental kitchen probably come to mind. But perhaps also wajang puppets, chirping monkeys swinging through the jungle, or a volcano that could erupt at any moment. Or the traditional dances in beautiful clothing.
