Invitation to festival ‘Forbidden Music Regained’

The Leo Smit Foundation, the Nederlands Muziek Instituut/ The Hague Archives and Donemus would like to invite you to the Third Festival Forbidden Music Regained on Saturday afternoon 9 December. After the success of our first two editions, the Amsterdam Conservatoire (CvA) invited us to organise such a festival again.

This year we are presenting 25 new editions, meaning we have made a total of ONE HUNDRED editions of works by composers persecuted during WWII. Students from the CvA will carry out a selection of these.

The first copy of no. 100 of the publication series is presented to writer and publisher Maarten Asscher, a long-time advisor and supporter of the Leo Smit Foundation. This hundredth edition is the oratorio THE BIRD FREEDOM by Lex van Delden.
