Joey Roukens & Fuse

Every music group likes to build its own microcosm. A safe haven where music can be tinkered freely and guests can be received. The well-known Dutch crossover ensemble Fuse – including the beloved resident orchestra of the TV program Podium Witteman – will have its own construction site during November Music. “Fuse has that mysterious lake that you cannot see,” NRC Handelsblad wrote. Especially for November Music, the group presents a glimpse behind the scenes with the preview of their latest project Mikrokosmos.

During the festival, Fuse is working on a new cycle of works, called Mikrokosmos. So don’t expect a standard performance, but previews in which you as an audience are included in the making process. With daily short presentations in the intimate Artemis hall, the curious public is on top of the intensive work process. After the first successful edition during November Music 2021, now the sequel.

During four concerts/sessions, a different composer is central each time. Today it is Joey Roukens, festival composer during November Music, whose hand is Bosch Requiem 2022.

Fuse is known as a versatile and energetic live act that pushes itself energetically out of all musical boxes. The six perform a mix of classical compositions, jazz, minimal music, folk music and improvisations that make every performance a unique experience. Fuse previously received the Edison Klassiek audience award.
