Maxim Shalygin: Bleeding (public rehearsal & after talk)
Public rehearsal for the new work Bleeding by the Ukrainian composer Maxim Shalygin. Bleeding is a composition commission from Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, with support from Ammodo.
During the Bruckner Casco festival, fourteen composers will write a new work, inspired by the symphonies of Anton Bruckner. Maxim Shalygin, the Dutch-based ‘master in creating unusual sounds’ (de Volkskrant), brings a detail from Bruckner’s enormous Eighth Symphony to today’s language in Bleeding for thirteen brass players.
World premiere
The commissioned work will have its world premiere on Saturday, September 14 at 8:15 PM during the concert by Ludwig Orchestra conducted by Arie van Beek.
