Maxim Shalygin by Amstel Quartet (Day of the Composer)

The ‘drop after drop’ will be performed on Saturday 18 June 2022 at the first edition of the Dag van de Componist, organised by New Music NOW. Dag van de Componist is about LIVE Composers and the celebration of NEW music!

Music by composers active in the Netherlands will be heard all over the country: not only in concert halls and theatres, but also from bell towers, on the street and in living rooms. NTR and VPRO cover it live and New Music NOW streams concerts and interviews throughout the day. Reporters from all over the country report on the Day of the Composer. The concerts are open to everyone! Sign up!

“drop after drop” is about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but of course also about the devastation of the war in a broader sense. Commissioned by the worldwide alliance Festivals for Compassion  – with the Dutch Wonderfeel festival as the driving force.
