Oscar van Hemel in Orgelpark

In the years 1940-1960 Oscar van Hemel was one of the most frequently performed Dutch composers. He composed between the classical and atonal idiom. Van Hemel wrote five symphonies, numerous choral works, two operas, six string quartets and solo concertos for cello, flute, oboe and viola. Granddaughter Muriël van Hemel is once again bringing attention to his chamber music works. To be heard on October 23 are:
