Rudolf Escher: Arcana
Discover an extraordinary concert of contemporary piano music as rising star and Dutch Classical Talent finalist Elizabeth Goh embarks on her nationwide tour. From September 17 to October 18, she will be performing at the main Dutch concert venues, bringing a deeply moving and imaginative repertoire to life.
Titled “The Little Blue Notebook,” this carefully curated programme seamlessly weaves together twentieth-century masterpieces and exciting new voices. At the heart of the recital is Rudolf Escher’s wonderful Arcana Suite for piano solo (1944), a work rich in texture and emotional depth. Alongside Escher, Elizabeth will perform captivating pieces by Sofia Gubaidulina, George Crumb, Mattias Spee (Yellow Eyes), and Apollon Kalamenios (and so forth…).
By blending music, storytelling, and fantasy, this tour offers a peaceful space to reflect on the power of imagination in an unsettled world. We invite you to experience this thoughtful sonic journey live on stage.
