Rudolf Escher / Ton de Leeuw
In Polderklanken, composers from the Dutch musical landscape take centre stage: Rudolf Escher, Ton de Leeuw, Elmer Schönberger, Mathilde Wantenaar, and Georgi Sztojanov. Their music reveals the many ways in which the modern and contemporary musical idiom in the Netherlands has evolved from the twentieth into the twenty-first century, each voice marked by a distinctly personal signature. Performed under the direction of chief conductor Daniel Reuss, Polderklanken offers a compelling portrait of the richness and versatility of Dutch choral expression across time.
