The Simeon Quartet was founded in 1996 and focuses on the compositions of the Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt. The Simeon Quartet gives concerts in many special places and locations. There are the annual concerts in the St Bavo in Haarlem, in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam and in the concert hall of the Maenefabriek in Ruiselede in Belgium. At the end of 2022 a CD will be released on which Canto Ostinato will be released for the first time on four Meanevleugels. The Simeon Quartet consists of Cathelijne Maat, Esther Scheerder, James den Herder and Emile Engel. The unique lighting plan during the concert is performed by the “5th Simeon member” Mark Hengeveld. His unique lighting performance gives Canto Ostinato a very special dimension for both the performers and the audience.
