Victoria Vita Polevá: Life-giving Spring & Easter Stikhere

A capella vocal ensemble Apollo 5 is a wonder to behold; praised for their powerful singing and distinctive sound. With their unique 5-part vocal arrangements, from the baroque to the present day, they bring originality and freshness to everything they sing. Members of the group have previously given vocal workshops to schools in Vauxhall as part of Classical Vauxhall. Watching them inspire young children to sing and create was a privilege to witness and without getting too sentimental, was enough of a reason to know that what we are doing with Classical Vauxhall is definitely a good thing! Their programme “Haven” features music and poetry of troubled, displaced, and persecuted authors, reflecting music’s capacity to bring comfort, refuge, and sanctuary. This concert is also a fitting celebration of St Mark’s bicentennial year.
